A big hello to everyone. It's been ages since I've posted anything to my Deviantart account so I figured I'd upload something that I have been working on as part of a graphic design course I am currently enrolled in - between that, work, family life and other stuff I've not had much time to get too much TF art done.
This piece here is what I submitted for the final assignment in the Photoshop module of this course. After 6 weeks of learning new Photoshop techniques (and seriously after having used PS for years now I thought I knew it all - I was wrong, humbly wrong) the final assignment was to come up with a poster for either a TV show or film that was either real or fiction.
I decided to go with something completely fictional and did a poster for a fake Centurions movie. I always loved that show as a kid and I figured that it'd make an interesting challenge.
The main hero character here is played by Chris Evans (with Gerard Butler and Johnny Depp playing the roles of the other 2 Centurions who would feature in their own posters as part of a series of posters for this fake film) and his armour is an amalgamation of parts from the Master Chief, Iron Man, an F15 Fighter, TF:TM Optimus Prime and TF:WFC Air Raid. I didn't go too over the top with the various component parts that could be attached to the exo-suit armour as I wasn't sure how well I'd be able to make it look like it was part of a single image.
I hope you guys like this as it was something of a labour of love for me over the past few nights. I actually feel that for a first attempt at something like this that it didn't come out too bad, hopefully the guy marking the assignment feels the same. I think I'll be doing more pieces like this in the future... there are plenty more 80's cartoons that haven't had movies made yet!
Also I'd like to apologise for the lack of time that I've spent interacting with all my buddies on DA. The weeks have slipped by and I realise that it really has been a while since I've been on here. What little art I have been doing has been for the Bots Of Honor project so I haven't been able to show anything from that yet.
I'll have loads of art in 2011 though!!
